Guess what album will start off this semester… If you guessed Rush's Moving Pictures, your computer works and is showing the picture! Congratulations.

For those of you who are new to this, please listen to the album before you come to the meeting (4420 HBLL, 7pm, Wednesday 1/12/11). And don't just listen, I mean listen. Be prepared to learn about and discuss the music, the background, and more!

We'll also go over some stuff for the upcoming semester (will the long-promised shirts finally arrive?!), so do try your very best to be there so we can get your input!

Does anyone actually rely on this blog for Rock Club info? If so, I apologize for my slackage in updating it lately. It's been a busy mid-semester.

Tomorrow (11/10) we'll discuss the Grateful Dead's American Beauty and smoking plenty of weed to establish the appropriate atmosphere (…kidding!!). Same time (7pm), same place (4420 HBLL).

Wednesday 10/20: Meet at Eric Severson's place* at 7pm. We'll be working on the fundraising letters (as discussed in previous meetings and emails), as well as listening to some good music (next week's album, perhaps?!), eating treats, being awesome, and probably playing some Rock Band.

Wednesday 10/27: Discussing Radiohead's OK Computer. Need we say more?

Oh, Boy!

Tomorrow night we'll be gathering at our normal place (4420 HBLL) at our normal time (7pm) to play some good old-fashioned Rock Band! It'll be pretty low-key, but you'll learn valuable information about how you can help the club raise funds and qualify yourself for a free club t-shirt! It'll be a good time.

Next week's album, by the way, will be The "Chirping" Crickets by Buddy Holly and the Crickets.

This next Wednesday (9/22), we'll be showing It Might Get Loud, a totally rockin' documentary about three influential, talented guitarists and their different takes on the primary instrument of rock music. We want to start as promptly as possible, seeing as it's a full-length movie, so please try to be in room 377 of the Clyde building. 7pm sharp.

The Wednesday after that, our discussion will focus on Queen's A Night at the Opera. We have a playlist so you can stream if it you don't already own it, and if you want to do some background reading, have at it.
