Didn't mean to make you cry…

Just a reminder: Wednesday, same time (7pm), usual place (HBLL 4420). A Night at the Opera. See you there!

Saturday, September 18, 2010

Jack White never wanted to play guitar. Ever.

Update: The location for this particular meeting has been changed to room 377 of the Clyde building--NOT the library.

This next Wednesday (9/22), we'll be showing It Might Get Loud, a totally rockin' documentary about three influential, talented guitarists and their different takes on the primary instrument of rock music. We want to start as promptly as possible, seeing as it's a full-length movie, so please try to be in room 377 of the Clyde building. 7pm sharp.

The Wednesday after that, our discussion will focus on Queen's A Night at the Opera. We have a playlist so you can stream if it you don't already own it, and if you want to do some background reading, have at it.

HEY, HO--LET'S GO!

Thanks to all those who showed up for the first Rock Club meeting of Fall 2010! For those who couldn't make it, here are a few highlights:

* We have a new VP, dedicated rocker Lauren Eberly. Anyone who would like to contribute to the club as an official may contact our current Club President, Eric Severson, at byu.rock.club@gmail.com.

* We plan to update our blog and our Facebook group much more frequently than in the past, in order to keep you better-informed as well as spread the word. We also have plans for increased advertising, fundraisers, and activities. We'd appreciate any ideas you may have to offer regarding viral/guerrilla marketing, and are especially grateful for the effort you put into inviting friends who might be interested in joining us. Keep it up!

* At our next meeting, September 15th, we will discuss The Ramones' self-titled debut. You may stream the album here. Discussion will take place as usual in HBLL 4420, 7pm.

* For obtain further information about the club, upcoming meetings, or concerts this semester, or to give us your ideas for advertising, activities on non-album weeks, or organization, email us at byu.rock.club@gmail.com.
